NasaMist Pediamist Isotonic Saline Spray Review

Our family reviewed the NasaMist Pediamist Isotonic Saline Spray on our 13 month old and our almost 3 year old.

The NasaMist Pediamist Isotonic Saline Spray was very easy to use and convenient. The mist is very fine and gentle – so gentle that we didn’t need to restrain our kids to use the product. I took a picture of the mist sprayed in the air against a dark towel. As you can see, the mist is very fine and gentle for little noses.

Our 13 month old often has a dry nose in the mornings and the NasaMist Pediamist Isotonic Saline Spray was very effective in soothing his nasal passages and keeping him comfortable. We noticed that he has less “boogers” throughout the day and at night he was able to sleep better.
I would recommend keeping a towel close by because there will be liquid that will start to discharge and come out of the nose soon after or immediately following the spray.

We would definitely recommend this product to other parents and caregivers. The NasaMist Pediamist Isotonic Saline Spray is not only easy to use, but effective and convenient.

I was excited to learn that one of my favorite bloggers Mommy Greenest recently published her book The Mommy Greenest Guide to Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond. As a new mom to baby #2, I enjoy reading Mommy Greenest blog because it provides me with simple and small tips to help make our family healthier and live greener. I am even more excite to read The Mommy Greenest Guide to Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond. For more information, please check out the eBook at MommyGreenest.com/eBook.

And a special thanks to Naturepedic for all the support to help sponsor Mommy Greenest’s book. We only trust Naturepedic mattresses with our two boys. We have peace of mind knowing that our boys are sleeping on products that do not contain harmful toxic chemicals.

Celebrating Dads! #LittleVictories

With Father’s Day right around the corner, I love how social media is celebrating dads!  According to Bravado Designs, they recently conducted a survey in which 87% of new moms ranked new dads as the #1 person they rely on for emotional support for breastfeeding. I know this is definitely true for me! I could not have successfully nursed our son for 15 months without my husband’s love and support. It was definitely an uphill battle in the beginning with latching issues, mastitis, and tremendous pain but I got through it! With baby #2 on the way, I know my husband will be there to support and help me again through my breastfeeding journey.

Happy Father’s Day to all your fabulous dads out there!

Upgrade dad’s shaving routine with Philips Norelco this Father;s Day!

So how do you top the first Father’s Day? With a gift as good as last years, of course and helping him upgrade his morning shaving routine! After much thought, I decided to not reinvent the wheel and give my husband the same gift as last year…what, you say??? Well, he loved it so much that I thought what better than to get him another one for the his van pool and desk at work. Especially with baby #2 on the way, I wanted to find the perfect gift to help save him time and get a clean, close shave! What better gift than the Philips Norelco shaver 8800!

Image

My husband works at least 10 hour days and leaves the house around 5 am…so it was logical to get him the Philips Norelco Shaver 8800 for his desk at work. The Philips Norelco shaver 8800 would definitely help him change his morning routine by being able to get more zzz’s and waking up later as it cuts the time he spends shaving. It is worth every penny especially if he gets to spend more time with his family and less time on grooming.

I decided on this shaver because of the JetClean system that not only washes but also lubricates, dries and chargers the shaver. The UltraTrack head has three tracks providing a close shave and up to 60 minutes of shaving time (approximately 20 days)! I especially love that it can be used for a dry or wet shave.

So if you are looking for the perfect Father’s Day gift…look no further! This gift is seriously the best gift for your husband, dad, grandfather or father-in-law in your life! Happy early Father’s Day to all you amazing dads!

Look out for my post Father’s Day review post on the Philips Norelco shaver 8800!

My #LittleVictories

As a SAHM, it is the little things that make my #LitteVictories like having enough time to take a shower while my son is napping, having extra energy to do the laundry AND fold it…if I’m lucky put it away too.  But it is so worth it to watch our now 18 month old grow, learn, and discover new things. He is now learning to eat with a fork and spoon on his own, say more words, help mommy clean, going on a slide on his own – it is truly the #LittleVictories in our life that make it so special.

With baby #2 on the way in a few short months, I am reminded of my breastfeeding journey with our son. It was a struggle with latching issues and mastitis but it was thanks to my supportive husband that I was able to get through it and it is one of the greatest accomplishments and proudest mommy moments. It was also thanks to social media that I was able to connect with other moms, lactation consultants and Bravado Designs to get the help and encouragement I needed. A few months after having our son, I learned about Bravado Designs on Facebook…and seriously, THANK GOODNESS! I literally live in my Essential Nursing Tanks. I ended up getting one for every day of the week because then I had something to wear even if I didn’t do laundry. They are so comfortable and never stretch out but still show off your beautiful body. I’ve tried a few other nursing tanks and the clasps are not good or they lose their shape…but not Bravado Designs. When I had my son almost two years ago, they only had white, brown, black and a few special colors. I’m loving their newest color, Mykonos Blue! And if you are in search of a  nursing bra look no further. The Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra is amazing!!! So soft and comfortable – it is definitely the best purchase you can make for yourself post-baby!

Time for Spring Cleaning with Lysol

Image

With an active 17 month old and a new baby in less than 6 months on the way, we definitely needed to get started on our spring cleaning.  The morning sickness is finally starting to go away and with my extra energy I have already started nesting again…

We trust Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and Lysol Power & Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner Trigger for all of our cleaning needs. As much as possible, we try to find natural, green or organic products for our home however to keep our house clean, fresh and with less germs, you just can’t beat Lysol!

I love that Lysol now makes the Lysol Power & Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner Trigger because it has a hydrogen peroxide formula that cleans our bathrooms and kitchens without the harshness of bleach.  It doesn’t have a harsh smell and it cleans hard water spots in our shower with minimal scrubbing. I was so impressed how clean my shower and bath looked after using it! My favorite part about Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and the Power & Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner is that it kills up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria – that’s something that we can definitely all appreciate in this house! Our son is 17 months and has luckily not gotten the flu, partly due to Lysol and keeping our home clean.

Also, I am in love with the Lysol Touch of Foam Antibacterial Handsoap! It doesn’t dry out my hands and I especially love the wild berry bliss scent that leaves my bathroom and hands smells so yummy!

I know one of the hardest things for me is figuring out where to start spring cleaning – and it sometimes can feel overwhelming and daunting. Here’s a spring cleaning checking that will help you get started!

Spotless Spring Cleaning Checklist:

  • Date Yourself: Set time in your smartphone calendar to hold yourself accountable for cleaning and reorganizing. This amount of time will be different for everyone depending on how much there is to get done, but book at least 15-30 minutes a day to start. Hold yourself accountable for the spring cleaning tasks you want to accomplish and get them done!
  • Touchy Feely: Most of us don’t think of all of the things we are touching on a regular basis and yet seldom clean. Disinfect commonly touched surfaces like doorknobs, computer keyboards, remote controls and light switches, with LYSOL Disinfecting Wipes to remove 99.9% of germs.
  • Donate: Start a donation bag and throw items in as a way to cut down on clutter around the home. Consider rewarding your children when they donate as a way to teach them responsibility with a great outcome.
  • Down and Dirty: Hone in on the quick, small chores that you’ve been brushing aside all year, saying, “I’ll get to that later!” Examples include cleaning underneath heavy furniture to get rid of dust and lost bits of food, and wiping down the outdoor grill.
  • Tidy Tubs: Prevent the reappearance of mildew and soap scum in the bathroom by wiping down the tub and glass doors after every use, or replace your basic showerhead with a detachable handle so you can easily spray it down. For the wipe down, a microfiber cloth works wonders!  Just keep it nearby and wipe. The 20 seconds it takes to do this will save hours of deep scrubbing later.
  • Trash the Trash: Make sure you throw out anything that could count as trash to start making room for the important things you want in your home. You should be throwing away trash every day and not letting it build up. Make it a habit to spray and wipe down your trash bin with LYSOL Power & Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner Trigger every time you take the trash out to prevent mildew and smells.
  • Look Down: How are those floors looking? A little grimy? To maintain spotless floors, instil a “no shoes” policy in your home. Passing a small vacuum over your floors daily will prevent dust bunnies from multiplying – and don’t forget about those hard to reach places where dust, germs and hair collect.

Happy Cleaning!

Our holiday stay at the Hyatt Huntington Beach

We spent our holiday at the Hyatt Huntington Beach soaking up the sun, playing in the sand, lounging by the pool, and enjoying delicious meals – if you are looking for the perfect beach getaway then you’ve found it at the Hyatt Huntington Beach. I can’t think of anywhere else I would have rather spent our holidays than enjoying the 80 degree temps and lounging by the pool. We decided not to bring our two dogs but even your furry family members are always welcome at the Hyatt Huntington Beach!

Image

The property is absolutely stunning with beautiful landscaping, clean and comfortable guest rooms, a variety of restaurants, alcoves with fire pits, water slides, pools, a luxurious spa, a grocery store… all this nestled just steps away from the sandy shores of the Pacific Ocean. Our stay at the Hyatt Huntington Beach was even more remarkable thanks to the friendly staff. They were always willing to go out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. I was impressed with how accommodating the staff was to families – especially with our very active 13 month old!

We stayed in the Catalina Suite – I loved the layout and it is perfect for families. I especially loved the two full bathrooms and the adjoining door that separates the master room from the other room with pull out sofa bed. My husband and I were able to put baby down to bed for the night in the master room and leave the door ajar while we watched TV and relaxed in the other room.

View from our room – just steps away from the Pacific Ocean

The property has a variety of dining options from the swanky Red Chair Lounge (with tender Filet Mignon and to die for Cheesecake infused strawberries) to a pizzeria (with the best cheesy bread sticks), and a variety of delicious options at Pete’s Sunset grille (with healthy kids menus options).

Our son was a little too young for Camp Hyatt but there was no shortage of fun and activities for him to enjoy. Be sure to ask the Front Desk for a copy of the activities calendar. While we were there, the activities included koi feeding, hair braiding, s’mores roasting, and cookie decorating…and parents, while the kids are out enjoying the activities be sure to book your spa service at the Pacific Waters Spa. I had the one hour theraputic massage and it was 60 minutes of pure bliss! But be sure to leave extra time to enjoy the steam room, sauna, showers and whirlpools.

Just soaking up the sun and lounging by the pool.

Our family absolutely loves PTPA and it is thanks to them that we have discovered amazing products for the whole family. It is no surprise that Hyatt Hotels is a PTPA award winner! The Hyatt Huntington Beach is the perfect vacation spot for families – we are definitely looking forward to our next stay!

Review of the Summer Infant Fuze

Image

The Summer Infant Fuze Stroller with Universal Adapter is one of the best strollers around. I would have given this stroller a 5/5 stars expect for a couple of minor things I would have preferred like a rounded handle for pushing, minor changes to the frame so that it can easily fit into a compact car (we currently have to put the stroller in the long way so that it can fit into our compact cars). Our son is 11 months and we use both the universal car seat adapter and the seat. It is very easy to go from the universal adapter to the seat. I love how lightweight and easy to manuever and stroll around in.

In summary, here is a quick rundown of the pros and cons of the Summer Infant Fuze Stroller with Universal Adapter.

Pros:
– lightweight
– nice, comfy padding in chair
– great universal car seat adapter
– easy to manuever
– long seat to grow from baby to toddler
– attachment for cup holder
– good shade

Cons:
– does not fit easily in a compact car specifically Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla – the stroller needs to be put in the long way which takes up more trunk space.
– seat: legs need to bend even when reclined for sleeping
– when the seat is fully reclined it does not provide very much cover or shade
– prefer a rounded handle for pushing the stroller instead of the rectangular handle

Disclosure: I was given a free sample of this product to review. However, my opinions are my own.

I’m back!

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA…time is just flying by. I was planning my son’s first birthday party, just came back from Hawaii, getting over a little cold…I can’t believe my little peanut is already one! It is crazy! It has been an amazing year and I am so lucky to have an amazing husband that works hard and gives us the ability for me to stay home with our son. Music classes and swim classes have been keeping us very busy! By the way, have I mentioned that he can already swim! We started taking infant survival and swim lessons and he can dive, kick and float with a little assistance. It is incredible! And not to mention I made it to my one year breastfeeding goal! I didn’t think I would make it but I did and I am still pumping and nursing! I also donated over 400 oz to the milk bank. My little guy doesn’t like the taste of frozen milk so I was able to donate all the frozen stash to babies in need. Did I mention that I seriously love being a mommy! It is beyond words and I can’t wait to spend another holiday with our little family!

I just got some super exciting news today! I can’t wait to share it with you in the next couple of days! Look out for more info!
